DOMINIONISM:

DOMNIONISM'S BOSOM BUDDY:

RECONSTRUCTIONISM:

http://www.parentingwithpurpose.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=248&Itemid=41

This is the reformed side of Dominionism.  Both sides are trying to take “dominion” .  One through the experience of mystical things: visions, dreams, etc.  This is even in, what was previously the more “conservative” denominations.  The second also is taking dominion but through religious experientialism.   They are the booky folks.  All refer to each others’ scholarly writings on different topics.  They direct people back to church history and church fathers…that being mainly Catholic men of the past or select pieces from men of the Reformation or C.S. Lewis, Chesterton, and the like.  Personalities are promoted from the past and present as “godly men” to be looked to and mimicked, instead of going directly to scripture. Yes, they will say it is all scriptural, but if you don't study it yourself they will put a ring in your nose and lead you where they want you to go.   A big push is made to promote reverence, high-church services that are funeral-like, and a high view of “sacraments”(---that word is not scriptural, but they are talking about the bread and wine) this is all really a return to the dark ages when people did not have the word of God and believed they had to go through other men in order to get to God or have the title of “Christian”, through: ritual, baptism and attending services.  These were means to keep them in the so called, Christian faith.   Hierarchy is big, creating  a need among the congregation to go through their elders and blindly follow them assuming that their intellect is so much higher than the average common folk, that they just have to take the leaders at their word. If you miss their services, you are forsaking the assembly.  Bibles are not taken away, but teaching that the leaders are the only ones with big enough brains to understand any of it and interpret the correct meaning is promoted.   We were in a group like that in the past that the Lord Jesus mercifully delivered us out of.  You may read about that in the archives of: The Journey Out , the link is found at the top of our home page.

Do a search on the following words or phrases to learn more about this movement:

Postmillennialism, Postmillennial-Reconstructionism, Theonomy,  “Returning the Crown Rights of Jesus Christ”,Taking Dominion or Take Dominion, Neo-Orthodoxy, New Perspective on Paul,  Federal Vision, Auburn Avenue Pastor’s Conference.

Both sides of the movement are really coming together and looping around toward each other. At the face of it, one might thing that they are opposite to each other.  But the end game is the same, so I believe they are looping around toward each other.  Even now you will see them starting to cross promote.  It may not make sense when you do see that, but if you realize that they are trying to take over all spheres of society and place the “Christian” label on each, you may get a better understanding of the reason why they seemingly promote things that are opposite to their teachings (ie. Emotion based verses non-emotion based).  Both are experienced based but appealing to different types of people.    One of the key uniting factors is that they do not believe Jesus will return at any time, so they are supposedly  setting up His kingdom here on earth.  Postmillennialism is a big uniting component. The Dominionist group (typically not reformed) goes about it through the experience of : signs, wonders and emotionalism.  The Reconstrutionist  group (typically reformed), goes about it through the experience of down playing the work of the Holy Spirit and making all things an academic approach with ritual and solemnity.  Both seem to want the same end result.  Watch to see as these two groups loop around together in common unity…we live in interesting times!

Jesus Christ is Lord, the Bible says He will return and HE will set up HIS kingdom. We are to love Him…live for Him…share His gospel…encourage other Believers in His word and with His love and remain in the Hope of His return and the resurrection of the dead.  God is faithful!  Don’t be discouraged in these times of false teachers abounding left and right.  Look to the Bible and see that all this is to be expected and our hope and joy is to remain in Christ alone, not these guys who want to usurp His position by building their own little kingdom’s while using His name.  He will deal with them.

 Philippians 3:18-24 (NKJV)

18 For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame—who set their mind on earthly things. 20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.

If possible, you may want to listen to this in its entirety.  It may be quite enlightening to what is going on within the Dominionist movement today:

Luke 13:23-28 (New King James Version)

23 Then one said to Him, “Lord, are there few who are saved?”
And He said to them, 24 “Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able. 25 When once the Master of the house has risen up and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open for us,’ and He will answer and say to you, ‘I do not know you, where you are from,’ 26 then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets.’ 27 But He will say, ‘I tell you I do not know you, where you are from. Depart from Me, all you workers of iniquity.’

Matthew 7:10-20 (New King James Version)

11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him! 12 Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
The Narrow Way

13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because[a] narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
You Will Know Them by Their Fruits

15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

Question:  What are their fruits?  Is it the things they write?  This is very  telling in why God put qualifiers in scripture for overseers in the local congregations.  If the men you follow are not around you for you to observe their fruit, how do you know if they have good or bad fruit?  Probably they are not going to want you to see the bad fruit if that is what they have going on in their lives.  Consider that before following a famous, distant person. Nowhere in God's list of qualifiers does it say they need seminary degrees and that a degree trumps the rest of the list. They need to be able to teach, but God seems to be concerned about the heart, home-life and character traits of the man--not the academic achievements he has or his institutional accomplishments resume' or references by other academics .

Ephesians 5:8-10 (New King James Version)

Walk in Light

8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light 9 (for the fruit of the Spirit[a]is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), 10 finding out what is acceptable to the Lord.

Galatians 5:18-23 (New King James Version)

18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery,[a] fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders,[b] drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

1 Timothy 3 (New King James Version)

1 Timothy 3

Qualifications of Overseers
1 This is a faithful saying: If a man desires the position of a bishop,[a] he desires a good work. 2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, temperate, sober-minded, of good behavior, hospitable, able to teach; 3 not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money,[b] but gentle, not quarrelsome, not covetous; 4 one who rules his own house well, having his children in submission with all reverence 5 (for if a man does not know how to rule his own house, how will he take care of the church of God?); 6 not a novice, lest being puffed up with pride he fall into the same condemnation as the devil. 7 Moreover he must have a good testimony among those who are outside, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.
Qualifications of Deacons

8 Likewise deacons must be reverent, not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy for money, 9 holding the mystery of the faith with a pure conscience. 10 But let these also first be tested; then let them serve as deacons, being found blameless. 11 Likewise, their wives must be reverent, not slanderers, temperate, faithful in all things. 12 Let deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well. 13 For those who have served well as deacons obtain for themselves a good standing and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.

Psalm 126:2- (New King James Version)

2 Then our mouth was filled with laughter,
         And our tongue with singing.
Then they said among the nations,
“The LORD has done great things for them.”
3 The LORD has done great things for us,
         And we are glad.

and comes down from the Father of lights,

with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
