We attended a college senior recital last night, performed by our friend Karen.  She did a wonderful job!  We thoroughly enjoyed the beauty of her skill and the hard work that went into it.

Music is a gift from our wonderful Lord!

These are the selections she played:

Improvisation No. 15 in C Minor…………………………........Francis Poulenc

(Hommage a’ Edith Piaf)                                                               (1899-1963)

Sonata in G Major, K. 547………………………………Domenico Scarlatti

                                                                                                                (1685-1757)

Andante cantabile e Presto agitato in B Major………...Felix Mendelssohn

                                                                                                               (1809-1847)

Pictures at an Exhibition……………………………….Modest Moussorgsky

The Great Gate of Kiev                                                         (1839-1881)

The recital was presented in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Pedagogy.

I wish we would have brought our camera too!  She wore a beautiful royal blue gown with a satiny white jacket---quite lovely.  It was a special evening.  We were thrilled to be a part of it.

Should we “Christianize” the world or spread the gospel? Does a person need to be born again or just moral with good values?

(New King James Version):

Philippians 3:18-24

18 For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame—who set their mind on earthly things. 20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.

1 John 2: 15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.

2 Peter 3:9-15

9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. 11 Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.
